Deeper learning through Innovative learning environments

Learning Spaces Innovation in Education

1 December 2021 (Wednesday) - 09:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Afraid to move towards innovative learning environments because teachers won’t be able to adapt? Don’t sell your faculty short!

The American International School of Guangzhou is finishing up the second of two new buildings based on research out of the University of Melbourne’s ILETC project. In this interactive session, we will look at how faculty at AISG adapted and thrived, moving into new Type D learning spaces which took most faculty far from their comfort zone. And all during the pandemic! While some said our teachers would just leave over innovative spaces, we found the opposite. We are witnessing deeper collaboration than even before and now are studying the effect these spaces are having on our students. During this session we’ll share all that we have learned; what has worked well, and what didn’t. And we’ll share each others stories among participants, look at current research, and the PD we developed to support our faculty.

AISG has partnered with the University of Melbourne and LEARN (Learning Environments Research Network) to study the effect of the learning and well-being of our students.
