Ben Thompson is co-founder of 407 Learning. Ben’s first role in education was as part of an English Premier League club’s ‘Playing for Success’ team, striving to raise literacy, numeracy and ICT standards amongst demotivated KS2 and KS3 pupils. Fast forward 20+ years and Ben has held a variety of roles in UK and international education which have increasingly concentrated on the impactful use of technology. 

A qualified and experienced former primary school teacher, Ben has held teaching, leadership and non teaching roles in the UK and Asia which have included 1:1 device scheme implementation, GSuite migration, school internet radio station setup, scaled-up CPD design and tech coaching. He led eLearning and edtech for a 12000 student, 34 academy UK Multi Academy Trust in which he led the Star Classroom project which delivered scaled up CPD and future-proof classroom AV across the network of academies. 

Also comfortable as a Data Protection Officer, Ben is an Apple Professional Learning Specialist, Google Certified Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and Master Trainer. Ben’s outcome driven philosophy is primarily no matter the badge, no matter the role, always lead with solid pedagogy and the right tool for the job in hand in order to deliver impact, engagement and advancement in learning.
